Red Ribbon Week was a success! I however, was not successful to get pictures everyday :/ SORRY ! We have packed a lot of learning into this week and with the next two weeks being a 4 day week and 3 day week, it's going to FLY BY!
In writing, we are reading lots of Mo Willems' books to use for quality voice in writing. We learned about dialogue and adding speech bubbles to our writing.
In reading, we read the book Creepy Carrots, and did all kinds of comprehension skills; retelling, favorite parts, text connections, predicting.
In Math, we learned about the number 13 and continued to work on counting and counting on from a certain number.
Thank you, to the families that have sent in Inquiry Table items. The students are super excited to explore those things next week. We learned this week ALL about making observations.
Fundraiser pick-up is Tuesday night after school. Prizes will be given with orders.
Parent Teacher Conferences:
I will be sending home the progress reports Monday. Please look these over at home and come to conferences with any questions or concerns you might have. We are very limited on time (15 mins back to back) and I want it to be valuable to you. I know for some of you the "Progress Report" is going to look very different than your typical report card. We assess students on skills that have been taught and then report on only those skills. Please do not assume that if your child has any RED on their report that means they are failing! Please keep in mind that we have three more quarters to continue to learn and grow in Kindergarten :)
