Our crayons are getting very small and we are needing new crayons. If everyone could bring in a box that would be great. If you are able to bring a few extras, it's always good to have them on hand for centers or stations. Some students have already brought them in. This is just a reminder. I would like to pass out new crayons Friday or Monday.
I wanted to give you all a heads up that the week of April 4-8, I will be out of the school for 4 of the 5 days. Monday-Wednesday I will be out of state taking care of some family business. Thursday, I will be out at a building collaboration day for K. I apologize for the excessive absences, life has thrown me some unexpected experiences this year. If you have questions regarding my absents please do not hesitate to contact me. The substitute that week will be Rita Duchscherer (pronounces Do-share), she has been in our classroom a couple of times this year and I think she does a great job with the kiddos.
Prime Time Nursery Rhymes will be presented on Tuesday, April 5th at 7:00 p.m. There will also be a performance for our school at 2:30 the same day. It will be held in the Willard East gym. If you have any questions feel free to contact Mrs. Chatman at email@example.com.
Please note that this round of conferences are optional. That means if you have questions or concerns for your child's progress then we recommend you sign up. We will also be contacting you if we have concerns about your child's progress. If you have no concerns and we have no concerns it is not necessary for a conference at this time. If you do sign up for a conference, please include a few times that would work for you. I will confirm it with you the next day.
April 15th Willard Schools has a no tax increase bond issue for the urgent needs of our district. Additional classrooms at Orchard Hills, Willard North and Intermediate replacement of the heat/air systems, and preparation for a south side Intermediate school in the future would all benefit from this bond issue passing.
I just want to remind you that the book bags are just for practice. They are not "homework" but many students would benefit from reading leveled books, practicing sight words, and practicing letter formation and handwriting at home. If your student masters another sight word list, stick it in their folder and we will go over it at school! Each week we get a new paper book and it will go in their bag.
