Zero the Hero came today! We celebrated being in school for 30 days!
In Math, we just finished up Topic 2 which was comparing numbers 0-5. We will start Topic 3 on Monday which will be counting and writing numbers 6-10.
In Reading, we learned expectations for another Daily 5 (researched based reading activities students should be doing daily) activity, Word Work. In word work, we practice writing our name, letters and words we can read and write. We will begin learning sight words after we finish up our letter experts next week! Super excited about that :)
Letter Experts: Maddox, Jordan, Zach
In Writing, we finished up our first unit of learning that drawing and writing is just telling a story on paper. We learned about labels, and how to use resources such as an alphabet chart for writing and a topic/ideas sheet to help us with getting started. We are going to be jumping into Narrative Writing, stories about ourselves and writing books that tell a story across multiple pages with a beginning, middle and end. Wish us luck :)
In Science, we are learning all about apples as well! Next, week we will finish up and celebrate Johnny Appleseed's birthday on Monday. Wear red if you remember!
Snack Helpers:
Monday: Jordan
Tuesday: Daniela
Wednesday: Happy Birthday Maddox!
Thursday: Ali
Friday: Moselle
Important Dates:
9/27: Picture Day (money due that day)
9/30: Tiger Pride @ 2:30
10/6: Open House 6-7 PM
10/7: Mrs. Jackson will be out for a conference
